Today marks the beginning of my hiatus from my beloved life and work in New York City. In 5 hours I board the Crescent Line Amtrak train at Penn Station with my dear friend Kurt and will arrive in New Orleans 30 hours later with a few clothes, my bike, a sewing machine, and lots of ambition. This blog is an attempt to document our journey across America and whatever madness ensues afterwards.

Maybe its because one of the funniest professors I ever had made one too many jokes about the marriage of rebar and concrete... But I always get the biggest smile on my face when I see a pile of rebar.
